Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Been reading this thread with interest, booked to go to Selva next February half term, first time in Italy, and am fascinated to know how people know their skied distance, is it something that you work out yourselves, or do the ski passes allow you to measure your ski distance?

There is a website for the dolomites where you can put in your lift pass number, and it will tell you which lifts you used, showing elevation gained/lost and an estimate of distance. The distanvce can only ever be an estimate, becaus it often can't be sure of what route you took from the top of one lift to the bottom of the next.

There is a similar system now for many Austrian resorts at www.skiline.cc

Thanks for that, I'll add to favourites for next year.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Here is the link for the Dolomiti recorder.
http://utilizzo.dolomitisuperski.com/jsp/applet_/findTransit.jsp?ccode=en-US

It will give you figures and even animate your lift choices and show you views of where you went. As many have pointed out, it does not know by which routes you descended, so it will not be totally accurate.

Please remember the whole Dolomiti experience is about scenery and ambiance. It is not just a Km clocking game!

Anybody been up to the top right area - Helm I think it is? My friend Kate is off there next week and was wondering about it. There are no references to the area on snowHeads.

Not actually booked Dolomiti for the new season yet - waiting on a fitness test for Bev on the glacier at Tignes for later this week. I was fancying going to Cortina for a change, but no TOs seem to go there and as I have to do Feb half-term a TO deal is my best bet. Anyone any suggestions?
