In my case it has been a bit of a love affair starting back in 2001 when it was chosen as the home of the Brits (British snowboarding championship) and my boys were desperate to go. I'd previosly been up at Hintertux many times before for summer skiing and the boarding but hadn't dropped in to Mayrhofen.
Over the years we have generally had great snow and fantatstic weather, combination of sunny warm days and plenty of powder days, and a few slushy days too. The warm weather is just fantatsic you have young childern going to ski school.
Here is a bit of an Easter picture history from 2001 to 2022.

One year on, first tracks again, sometimes if feels like we arre the only ones there.
We usually go at Easter too, but unsurprisingly have had hit and miss conditions - looks remarkably consistent in Mayrhofen.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Aaargh! Was it really necessary to leave a scar that wide down the mountain? It brings tears to my eyes when I see a couple of snowboarders shredding an entire hill of glorious powder.

No need to ask where we're going for Easter in 2013. Always good snow, great lessons from Easiski and we always meet up with old friends too.

Sorry, did you not checked the rule book? You can only raise me with 12 years or more "sun and powder" pictures from the same resort.

My god, yes there are 6, but I can't find a single ski pic with everyone at the same time.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

JimboS, do you not do an 'all together in front of the camera on a timer' photo every holiday then? Thought they were mandatory holiday snaps.
6 children is a HUGE amount

Looks like 2014 is fully going to live up to expectation, arrived yesterday to hear that there had been a huge dump of snow. It was a powder fest today with a bit of sun too, tomorrow the sun is due to come out proper.
Time to head over to Finkenberg, up at the top of the 150 man, first entry point to the valley of death, not high enough.
So on to the top of the Horbergjoch.
There was only one track of some hardy soul who had skinned up to the top, man that is hard core, it would kill me, total respect for anyone who does this.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Day 3 was spent up at Hintertux mixed day of sun and cloud, called it a day at 2.30 when it started to snow.
Day 4, woke up to snow in the village.
About 20cm of fresh snow overnight.
View down to the Schneekar.
It was afternoon by the time we got up to the top of the valley of death, I was pretty surprised no one else had been in but it is quite here just now.
JimboS, where do you stay when you go? Is a bus/car needed to get to the snow/Hintertux etc??

We have stayed in lot of different apartments, Hotels and B&Bs (probably around 20 different places) with about a 70/30 mix of self booked travel and accommodation vs last minute package deals, the main stipulation I have is that it must be within 5 mins walk of the main gondola, so no bus or car needed for that.
It easy to find good places on booking.com etc, that where I booked this years trip to Gästehaus Huber.
We hired a car this year so drove up to Hintertux, or you can take the free bus, takes about 30 mins.

2015
Another perfect Easter holiday.
Arrival day.
Next Morning.
Powder everywhere.
Into the trees.
Heading higher up, got lots of perfect runs.
Had to put a picture of this guy in.
A bit of apri!
Back in the apartment, what a view. In the end we had two days of heavy snow then 4 days of baking sun.
Some stragglers coming down the Ahorn into the village at the end of the day.
And then a few more landing outside our apartment just after.
Day 4 we spent at Zell/Gerlos, and then as da Hoff was getting slushy on Thursday due to the baking heat we went to Hintertux on Friday, the snow was still great there.
You missed a good one Bob, probably the best Easter snow conditions in the last 15 years.

Two access points, either at the top of the 150 man that goes from the fun park, or from the top of the Horbergjoch lift that gives an even longer run. The exit point is a trail that comes round to the top of the fun park.

Awesome.
Our best Easter is in Banff 3x now, but only early Easters and approximately every 3 years as I don’t think I can (could) afford an annual family trip over there!
Great thread!
