Well, that's probably the last time for me with Ryanair (unless I fly Prestwick Bergamo). Not throwing my toys out of the pram, but the Prestwick London route is the one I have used in the past to link in to flights out of Stansted. If I can't take luggage on holiday then it's no use to me. Odd move, since as others have said Easyjet or BA are better bets for business. I usually use BA from Edinburghto LHR or Gatwick. Regularly cheaper than EJ, BMI or Ryanair too, if booked in advance. And then come back First Class on the train.

GOOD NEWS STORY : Mother went over to the UK for a holiday (I wont say Break!). At Heathrow she fell and broke her arm damaged foot and cut face. Flying back from Stansted to Kerry yesterday I had arranged with Ryanair for her to be brough on with assistance! I had expected to pay a huge amount. No charge at all! Brought on and off the aircraft by staff, Mum said they could not have been nicer, stewardess opend drinks etc, etc. I was very suprised!
Maybe MO'L has read this forum and despite the drubbing I have given them in the past the way I have stood up for them on this particular issue I (mum) have been rewarded!
Ryanair are grrrrrreat as Tony the Tiger would say!!

You have to be careful with old people and flights.

A 78-year-old woman who was planning to fly to Germany from Stockholm’s Arlanda airport found herself taking an unexpected trip on Tuesday.
The woman misheard instructions from airport personnel, who directed her to an unmanned baggage conveyor belt after she had checked in.
Rather than placing her bags on the conveyor belt, she instead hopped on the belt herself, at which point she was whisked away to the baggage handling area, writes the Upsala Nya Tidning newspaper.
Within a few minutes, the confused woman was met by surprised airport personnel who were able to assist her.
The woman emerged from the incident without injury, and in time to catch her flight, according to the Arlanda police.

My only issue with Ryanair was a recent booking I made for two for a flight to Carcassonne. The return flights were £20.00 each, but there was an £8.00 pp debit card fee (one transaction) which is a bit rich! That said, £28 each, return is still hard to argue with for a 3 day return.

There isn't usually mush room on Ryanair flights...

Mushroom soup grounds flight
A Ryanair plane was forced to land - after a jar of mushroom soup in an overhead locker started leaking.
With incredible bad luck, it dripped on to a passenger who i severely allergic to mushroom soup, reports the BBC.
His neck reportedly swelled up and he struggled to breathe, forcing the plane to land in Germany for emergency medical help.
The Budapest to Dublin flight landed at Frankfurt Hahn Airport where the man was treated by doctors. The plane was delayed for two hours before continuing its journey to Dublin.
A spokeswoman for Ryanair said the jar contained "a vegetable oil/mushroom soup type substance".
"It is procedure when a passenger requires medical attention to divert to the nearest airport," she said. "The cabin crew and pilot take that decision."
It happened on the same day that another Ryanair flight had to make an unscheduled landing in France after losing cabin pressure.
The Ryanair flight from Bristol to Barcelona Girona was forced to land at Limoges Airport in France and 16 passengers were taken to hospital suffering from ear pain.

Sorry to add to what has been said so many times but I have just tried to book a flight london/marseille for myself and my two little girls.
Easyjet: price advertised £34.99 outbound plus £30.64 return. I select the flights and next page includes tax and baggage choices and gives me £163.26 total price.
Ryanair: price advertised for chosen flight £0 + £16 for infant.. I'm thinking "waow" (silly me). I confirm flights and price becomes £124.36... I still want to go with it as it is still £40 cheaper. I select next , enter my details repeateadly cos' it refuse one of my phone numberm (loose a good few minutes trying to get my details accepted) then finally I get a total price of £156 (incl. £24 for 1 bagage check in and £8 for 1 airport check in)....By now I have decided I have had enough but out of curiosity I choose Visa a s payment method. Final price: £172
I know it's been told many times and some of you are going to (rightly) roll your eyes but I just needed to vent the frustration at wasting my time...

We flew Liverpool tp Oslo Torp recently. Everything was on time and the flights were outsatnding value. When paying for 4 the savings are important. It was my first Ryanair flight and I would not hesitate to use them again. We utilised hand luggage to a max, 1 checked in bag, and a seperate booking for the 3 people without bags. It required some planning and a bit of extra effort, but the savings were huge.

Frosty the Snowman,
My experience flying with Ryanair has not been bad although not exactly great either and that is why I still consider them if the prices are right....
But that booking system is bang out of order...
Advertising flights at £0 when in reality that would have cost me £140 even without bagage or airport check-in is just wrong...

But 2 new routes from Scotland, to Torino and Grenoble. Yippee, time to visit Sauze methinks.
Anyone else read the remarkedly restrained letter by Mr O'Leary to European lot re their "cancellation" of tickets booked through screenscapers. Left me feeling some sympathy with Ryanair on this particular issue.
