Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The Grom is SAD … calling Groms

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Since he was Very Tiny the Grom has skied with elite athletes. But they are all very much older than him. I remember him - a tiny thing - skiing off into the woods with Chris Cotton Russell - six foot four - the Grom came barely up to Chris’ waist. They of course had a ball together. But now 18, and living in the UK, he is both pining for the mountains and missing hanging out with skiers of his own age. Some are studying in Europe, some have lost interest in the mountains (is that possible??) and he is left in a lonesome state. There are no ski clubs other than the University Club around the flatlands of Cambridge…grim. How does he link up with others? Are there other lonesome skiers to talk to on here to arrange meets and trips? Are there others Groms around 18 years’ old out there who would like to visit Valais next season?

All help welcome … something is needed to lift the spirits …

@valais2, some of the best young freeriders in the world knocking about in V. If he’s a strong rider I can hook him up with some of the local boys if he comes out here?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@BobinCH, that’s brilliant Bob - yes he is strong in both boarding and skiing - about 35 days a year on snow for 16 years, with coaching.

Boilerplate - yes
Deep and steep - yes
Switch - yes.
360s - yes.
Grabs - yes.
Backflips - no.
Rails - sort of.
Small cliffs - yes.

(And ‘yes’ means ‘charging and confident’)

Is that a specific level? ‘Emergent Free…’

@valais2, cool although its double backs and Cork 7’s if he wants to impress this crowd. One of my ski touring friends sons is 18 and knows the ropes

@BobinCH, ..indeed seen the extraordinarily high level of some of the local youth in VS…I agree with ‘cool but not impressive/leading edge’….
