Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski trip suggestions for a trip offering lessons?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've been going skiing with the same company for a number of years now and do like it however I would like to see if there's any other options available that will be similar or even better than this company. The company is based in france, and I'm not stuck to just travelling there but do like the shortish flight and the fact that most ski resorts aren't too far from Geneva and they do offer a transfer service.

They do chalets and provide breakfast and evening meal but the bonus is you also get ski coaching/lessons for 5 days which as I travel solo is a real bonus, it's also quite a social company and they sit you at large tables for dinner so dont have to sit and eat on my own. I am an older female who came to skiing late and as I travel solo like the rigidity of the lessons as it gets me up and out Very Happy so any suggestions for other companies offering similar?

Oh prob should also mention they're an english company so no language issues.

It sounds like you've found a good company there..
Why not mention their name, I'm sure others here would be interested to know more about them.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

lucylockett, try going on a snowHeads bash - http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewforum.php?f=31

On the PSB and EOSB there are lots of group lessons available, and even on bashes with no lessons, you'd have to try very, very hard at being unsociable to find yourself skiing or eating alone.

Loads of great snowHeads skiing buddies of all ages are just a push of a button away snowHead

ive done similar with inghams (without the evening meals together). The lessons with big companies can still be high quality particularly if you get full day instruction. Always good to have lunch and apres ski in a group. Snowcoach also great if you want guiding rather than coaching and they sit everyone together for dinner, not done that solo but on the few ive been on theres always been some solo and the groups always mix together for dinner / skiing...inclusive drinks help. snowcoach do flights too.

lucylockett, you could do worse then boook in on this trip - http://www.insideoutskiing.com/holidays/dolomites.html

1) The instructors (scott & rob) are really good, and really focus on a personal level of service/support/client improvement - the changes I saw Rob put into a client's skiing in just 2 days in Meribel was phenominal. Sure - they might push you a little out of your comfort zone - esepecially with the pole plants, but there's always a good reason for what they are trying to make you do. Their video feedback is fantastic too.

2) It's in the dolomites so it's got fablous scenery & food, and a good range of intermediate pistes

3) They'll be lots of individual travellers - they're 2 big long tables for dinner and everyone just mucks in and get's on with it. Age range is typically late 30's to 60 something...

I have no commercial association other than paying them money to help me improve my skiing...

Many thanks to the skier who mentioned www.singlesport.com earlier. We are a group for single skiers & take our lessons with skivo2 & skivolution both mentioned earlier in this thread, skivo2 in Courchevel in Jan & March & Skivolution in Kaprun in November. We usually have anything between 20 & 80 guests on our trips. All ages & all abilities but majority are 40 plus intermediates. please get in touch if I can help further ruth@singlesport.com

Try Tim and his company here:

He also runs the ski school as well as the chalet. The resort has lots of variation and the valley is beautiful.
