Because Lotus stands for Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious
Fall Line Media's stand on adventurers heading out over the ice caps is unequivocal. You shouldn't be there. Anyone who hasn't heard about how fragile they are by now isn't worth telling. We are approached frequently by people looking for publicity about their stupid polar stunts. How they need rifles to shoot the polar bears who will attack them, or satphones to get them out of trouble, or some other idiotic device which imposes upon a remaining fragile environment.
Impress us all by swimming there and doing the whole thing naked and unsupported - otherwise get your Darwin Award somewhere else.

who do they think they are kidding? I hope they're not going to ask for sponsorship, like those people who ask you to "sponsor them" doing something they really fancy doing, on the basis that it's "for charity". Load of old cobblers. How even the Mail can claim that this doesn't "harm the planet" is beyond belief.

fallliner,
A previous boss had an old Lotus that always ended up being towed back. We thought Lotus stood for "Loads of Trouble Usually Stationary" - he might as well have bought an Alfa Romeo.
