Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boot Dryer - Dry Guy? Anyone have experience???

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello,

Occupational hazard keeping my boots dry. I've found DryGuy on the web. I'm thinking of buying the most portable version.

http://www.cozywinters.com/bootdryers/

I've got two options:

One warms the air and creates convective circulation (Circulator). The other has a fan aswell as heat (Circulator HDT).

Does anyone have any experience with either? Will the fan hold up over time? Are there other options?

Thanks in advance for the help,

Tirekicker

The PEETs on the same page work extremely well.

Cheap and light and totally noise-free, packable for travel( or get several pairs), they do double duty on running shoes and the tip design really gets the air flow to the toe box area. One of mine has been in almost-continuous service since 1997.

The only reason to spend on the Dry guy, IMO, is if the boot uppers are truly soaked and they need to be dry in less than 2 hours.

PS, for portability IMO -nothing- beats Hot Gear bags http://hotgearbag.com/classic-race.html

Oh, my, yes. Leather gloves - 30 mins, breathable gloves take like 15-20 mins.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

tirekicker789, 'chemical' driers, in particular Dryzone, work well in boots and gloves (the boots packs will fit into gloves). They will dry stuff out every night for a week at least without the need for drying themselves, but only require to be stuck on a radiator for a short time (or in a microwave) to dry them out. Nothing to break.

CEM, about 4 minutes, actually, and the Indians are closer, and they all deliver; it was a public service question.

richmond,

Absolutely. When I'm moonlighting in my other job as a pizza delivery boy (money tight in the NHS these days - the GPs have scarfed it all) it fits the bill perfectly

Exactly. I'm expecting to be given a small percentage of the licence fee by a grateful government.
