And they are now reporting 40cm on upper slopes and 15cm on lower (on the lower slopes that is more than all last season!) We are going back there in eight weeks.

We are there from 5th Jan - DIY self drive trip so we get 8 days skiing in a week. Pictures on the website now of them trying to clear 150cm of snow off the roof of the new Fimbabahn building at Idalp - which they have to do before they asphalt it! The webcams are on again now as well.

€40-50 to get in a place? Hotel, NightClub ?
Your proposing to go over the busiest & most expensive week of the season. I would say €40 per night in a Pension would be the very cheapest if you can find somewhere & probably down or up valley.
As far as I know clubs do not charge (except to hang your coat) but for New Years Eve everywhere will charge.

stanton, saw the Google Earth map a couple of weeks ago .. well impressed !
Anyway, having never skied in Ischgl before (but had a couple of nights there while staying in Kappl earlier this year ... and got the bug) :
... assuming the whole area is open, what are the not to be missed runs i) long fast reds ; ii) challenging blacks or easily accessible off piste without a guide ; iii) hidden powder ?. Only there for 2.5 days so won't have much time to explore for ourselves. Any other tips for getting the most out of the area in a limited time ??? ta very much

I read it that 40-50eu was the New Year's club price.
Ischgl can keep their prices high as they can get plenty of Germans to pay them and don't need to try and attract anyone else.

Excellent w/end in Ischgl. Club prices reasonable, 10 euro for Pacha, 5 euro for Trofana, 10 euro for Insider/Living room if that takes your fancy.
No idea how much the drinks were. It's all a daze.
Snow truly excellent. Fantastic area.
