As the title says - anyone got any recommendations for dealing with smelly ski boots?
I'm wearing them a lot and inevitably they're getting wet and sweaty and even if I pull the inners out and dry them out/air them after use they're still starting to get that old sweaty wellie boot smell.
I've never had this problem in the past but then I've never used a pair of ski boots so much (coaching sessions, instructor training etc.) so if anyone can suggest something I can use to make them smell nice(ish) I'd be grateful, as would my nose

roga, All I do is make sure they dry out thoroughly.
At the centre we have some spray that is used to make the hire boots less unpleasant - but I'm not sure that I'd want to do that to my own boots - not for any good reason, just don't know what is in the spray.
But which smells worse - boots or gloves ? (For me it's the gloves)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There was a thread about just this same problem not so long ago here.

Yes, unfortunately I sometimes haven't had enough time to do that overnight so I guess that's caused a build-up of 'smell'.

Definitely boots for me - gloves get a bit whiffy on dry sometimes because of the green slime that seems to splatter off the matting (yuk!) and when you're with beginners it's likely to get onto them I've found, but a good rinse down with water in the shower seems to get rid of it, or giving them a good wash.

Ah thanks for that - so it seems a thermic boot dryer and Febreze might work, I'll try that.
Ellis Brigham have one for £30 at here which seems like a reasonable price - would that do the trick?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

roga, If mine get really wet (like after last week's race at Brentwood) - I take the inners out, and let let dry. If I'm in a hurry, I use a boot warmer inside the inners. They also dry out gloves
The slime seems to go with wet slopes. I can't lift up out matting (to put gates in) without taking my gloves off - yuk !
