Total Ski - yes, I went with them last year on a last minute to Les Gets. Chalet was in a great location, but a bit tired and food average, but the staff mostly pleasant. I seem to recall they were owned by a couple who had recently sold out to a large operator (Crystal?) and there were some changes being made. Probably no better or worse than most mainstream operators (Crystal, Thomson, Neilson, Inghams etc). I paid £260 HB I think, and it was fine for that sort of cash. I wouldn't have paid £600 like some had done in the chalet. But Christmas for £309 - fantastic, you have a ball!

Michelle, they are now owned by Esprit. From what I understand from seasonnaires, they're quite well regarded as an employer, not that that's going to be of great help, unless you're thinking of staying on as a chalet maid

Jayne, their website says that:

The Daille gondola and the Etroits chairlift start just 300m away, and take you to the big open bowl between Bellevarde and the Tovière ridge. |
so I presume so!
You say that you've been there twice... musn't be too bad then???

I think it must be the same - coz it isnt in the First Choice brochure this year. Went with large crowd of friends (their choice) year before last - accommodation is pretty basic but was fine - Small but lively bar area downstairs. First year we went the food was amazing and the staff really nice.. but the second year the food was dreadful - I wouldnt worry - coz that side of it must vary so much year to year depending on who is in the kitchen! We had a great time though both years... Short easy walk to La Daille lifts in the morning - skied back to a few yards from the door at night (we always came back down the ladies downhill - think it is listed as black but was much easier than the green which is like the M25 in the rush hour!). Very regular bus into Val D centre - stops right outside...
For the price you paid - you cant go wrong! have a great time.

skied les contamines with Total Ski last year. Nothing special, but clean, dry and warm with friendly chalet staff who were only too glad to help with any problems. the manger even took us down the valley on the staff night off to explore the neighbouring town
in summary - the chalet was better than an average club hotel, the food was good and the staff great craic
if, like us, you are only looking for somewhere to put your head down at the end of a busy day - I'm sure you wont be disappointed, and anyway, at that money how could you go wrong! enjoy!

I checked up overnight to confirm my poor memory and it was Ski Total who we used in St Martin de Belleville last year. (Late booking, to be honest I didn't care who the company was hence poor recollection.)
The chalet food & service was superb. Each evening started off with canapés & some nice alcoholic concoction then a 3 or 4 course meal with a good choice of wine, and the wine didn't stop at the end of the meal. This meant we didn't go into the village centre much.
The chalet was a bit on the outskirts which meant they had to transport us to & from the lifts but that was efficient & courteous. They recommended a ski-shop as usual but Total didn't mind me hiring direct with the shop using my SCGB discount rather than using Total's deal which of course would have given them commission, and they still gave me transport to & from the shop.
Hard to fault really, apart from the edge-of-village location, which explains why Total have dropped this chalet for this year.

I went to Les Arcs with Total last year and they were great.
Friendly and generous with the wine!
La Daille is a good base for Val D as you can get quickly up on the Furnival (train thing) and have easy links to Tignes, which has great intermediate skiing.
I think you've scored!
