@mistral_ski, If you can afford a Range Rover and afford the fuel to a ski resort and back, the cost of proper, safe, non bodywork/wheel damaging, reliable snow chains is peanuts. Confused
Dont forget if in France to get a Crit air certificate.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@boredsurfin, nah, it's permissable to buy a cheap pair that will never properly fit and that you'll spend 3 hours crouching in the dark, in way below zero temps, at the side of the road whilst others scrunch past flinging snow over you, because mostly they will sit in the boot, taking up valuable space. 😂😂

@Scamper, I love Range Rover drivers who have at least one if not two roof boxes who go flying past me straight into the next fuel station who then go flying past me who then go into the next fuel station who then...... Toofy Grin

Bizarrely, until recently we had 3 vehicles that would all do average 30mpg - box on wheels motorhome with ford transit 2.2 tdci, Hyundai Sante Fe 2.2 crdi and Merc 3.0 V6....
Anyway, back to snow chains - snow socks are fab!

How odd @boredsurfin, my RR will do VT to the Channel on one tank at 30-35mpg. However, I bow to your greater experience.
@mistral_ski, I use socks on mine but also have winter tyres so don't really expect to use them. Autosocks I think IIRC.

@mcspreader, Clearly not with roof boxes and speeds which in the UK would mean a temporary loss of licence! snowHead

@mistral_ski, I got mine off ebay (255 40 20) - just put in your chain size. Facebook market place is also useful & gumtree.

.....reminds me, must practice fitting them, lol
