About 1 month ago i purchased some second hand ski boots via eBay.
They are Atomic Hawx 120 2015
These.
http://www.skis.com/Atomic-Hawx-120-Ski-Boots/398014P,default,pd.html

The boots were virtually as new and an incredible bargain.

They fit perfect and I have just returned from a fantastic weeks skiing in Andorra.
On my return today I have stripped the boots apart to dry and clean fully.
From one of the boots the an item in the photo below came out. The other one does not have one in.
What is it, what does it do and will I be able to obtain another one?

Please help.

Can't see your pic but I know Lockwoods can get Atomic Hawx spares as they have sorted them for me in the past.

Drunkenjoiner, showing on mine ok- not sure but looks like a spoiler Confused

If the other boot doesn't have one, it could be the previous user needed it for one leg only, or had lost the other. I'd try the boots on without it and see how it feels.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Probably just a combination of phone and hospital WiFi messing it up for me.

@Drunkenjoiner, As mentioned above it is a boot spoiler, there should be a matching section of Velcro on back of the calve section of each boot liner.

They are designed to support your calves and provide a very small adjustment in forward lean. I suspect a decent ski shop would have a box of bits that haven't been needed when fitting boots. Then again if you skied without noticing it was missing, I wouldn't bother.

@PowderAdict,
Thank you.
While away skiing I did note that 1 boot had to be fastened up one or two notches different on the upper buckle.
No biggie, I thought as lots of people have slightly different size calf muscles.
I am now wondering if I had actually been skiing with one spoiler in, and one spoiler out.
This is something I will look into when they are fully dried out.

Thanks everyone for your input.
Very best regards

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

So the question is, do you need it? Presumably it was fitted for the previous owner.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Usually the first thing a good bootfitter chucks away unless you have particularly skinny calves. I wouldn't bother sourcing another.
