Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Absolut Park - where to stay as a base for long weekend?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm looking at options for a long weekend snowboarding - mainly interested in park riding. Absolut Park seems to come up regularly when I'm looking for new parks to hit so I was wondering where people recommend to stay as a base. Flachau seems to be the biggest resort nearby but not sure what travel looks like to get to the park and back? Any tips or recommendations?

Already got a week in Maryhofen booked early March and also looking at joining the end of season bash - hoping for a long weekend on the Absolut Park towards the end of Jan Cool

Thanks in advance!

@bake_snake, If you are only after the park then try to find somewhere specifically in Flachau Winkl.
The problem is that this is a 'hamlet' type of area. So it may be pretty tricky to find short stay accommodation for single occupancy!
In Kleinarl there are more hotels, so you may be better off looking here. Same mountain and still a 2 lift ascent to the park.

@flangesax thanks for the info. Looks like kleinarl is going to be the better option for accommodation

@bake_snake, if you want anything other than the park though (thinking when you have finished) then Flachau or Wagrain have more options for eating and drinking. Free busses run and take about 10-15 mins from Flachau to Flachauwinkl or Wagrain to Kleinarl.
