Poster: A snowHead

As a canny Scot always on the lookout for a good deal I tend to buy kit at the end of the season and take advantage of the discounts on offer. A couple of months ago I picked up a pair of SALOMON X-RACE JR SL skis for my son. They came fitted with Atomic XTO 10 bindings. I've been trying to find out a bit more about these and in doing so have noticed that on the Salomon website these skis are shown as coming with Salomon Z10 or L10 as standard.
I suspect Ekosport had some skis without bindings and decided to use the XTO 10s on them instead of the standard fit Z10 or L10. Having had a look around, the XTO and Z10 appear to be almost identical. Both have a fixed toe piece and moveable heal. The only difference appears to be the colour. Perhaps that is a simplistic view and there is more to it than that but I can't see the difference.
Am I correct in my view that they are the same?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Yes they're the same. Amer, the owners of Atomic, purchased Salomon a number of years ago and since then the majority of Atomic bindings have been re-badged Salomons.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Gaza, good for you.
Although, if we are really plumbing the depths of binding geekery, I note that it's interesting that Atomics are apparently being rebadged Salomons. While I sort of understand corporate branding strategy, it's all a bit weird.
Bindings ( that function as expected) are much of a muchness.
Other than Looks. In the 1980s. When they were cooler than cool.

I also note some exceptional marketing claims, "AND MAKE YOU GO FASTER."
Oh? Really?
I think not...
