oldsnowy, You may know the aircraft industry well, but you are showing your ignorance as to the Irish mentality of "local boy done good"! A paddy will say good on you Mr. Patel, but not the same about Mr. Murphy! We are a nation of begrudgers and are far more likely to say he only got on because he bribed a Minister!!!!
Mr. O'L has never had a cosy relationship with the Irish governments as they were there to protect Aer Lingus their/our airline, alas it looks like it is heading in the same direction as BA!

Point of information for whoever it was on the first page. Ryanair was founded in 1985 and Easyjey in 1995, so they did exist fifteen years ago.

LMAO :thumb:
If you want to go somewhere dead cheap in a very small space, use Ryanair. If you want to pay more, have more space, take luggage.... then don't use them, but don't criticize them for giving you an option. You wouldn't criticize Tesco for selling cheap tuna flakes if you wanted to BBQ a few tuna steaks. If you are prepared to accept the cost/suffering saving, go for it.
(Has anyone else ever tried BBQing Teso tuna flakes?......... don't)
