Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I don't know how much time I'll have to post and chat later on and tomorrow - aiming for an early night as we are driving through the night tomorrow and are in the middle of packing with a vengence at the moment. bh1, Would I go anywhere else with the family wink Enough snow I think - 10cm fresh yesterday, 50cm total and the magic word 'powder' in the resort description today!! Don't like the look of the forcast in the weather thread though - I hope it holds out in central Switzerland for the week

Right. Just about to hit the sack prior to heading for the airport at 3.30 to head for the Dolomiti. Best wishes to all other snowHead half-term heroes. Trip report to follow. Trip next!

We've just gone the other way. Stayed just north of Reims last night, heading for Calais, and were lucky to get the last room in the Etap. The car park, still pretty empty when we arrived at 2130, was bulging with UK skiers' cars this morning. They had obviously booked in advance. Very sensible. But why, being so sensible, did they stay NORTH of Reims? The southbound carriageway was stationary for miles, with the holiday traffic adding to the Reims rush hour. Just another few minutes on the road last night could have saved those drivers a lot of time this morning. Staying just north of Reims is for loosers. wink wink wink

pam w, we usually stay in Chalons on the journey down. Doesn't make sense to stop further north, although we stayed in Reims centre in December.
