Just an observation. It seems that so many posts have 'fat' somewhere in the title or in the thread even if it has nothing to do with weight, fatness etc. I find it amusing that soon an army of fat  will be devouring their way through the ski resorts of Europe. God help them...

I can't think so. I went into TK max to find a cheap pair of ski pant as mine have shrunk over the summer. 
All the trousers were too narrow in the waist or too long in the leg so I guess most people are slimmer than me and I don't regard myself as fat, just too short for my wieght. So I geuss most UK skiers must be skinny.

tend to hibernate in the summer months so need a huge amount of body fat to survive the harsh warn months.
Also it helps keep the centre of mass forward if you can strategically increase the bulk of fat in the belly region, all the top coaches recommend it

No, you've completely missed the point. It's precisely because all the fat skiers bought the larger sizes first time round that the skinny ones have ended up in T K Maxx. Like you always have a fantastic choice of shoes in a sale if you take a size 3.

I think you need to actually read all those "fat" threads.
I think they are talking about off piste skis...Fat Skis in common parlence.
OBVIOUSLY you should assume that all SnowHeads are svelte and hunky/nubile (until proved otherwise)

Many skiers are fat. Like most of the population is over-weight. But a lot of skiers USED TO be active. People who're active at some point but stopped being active is going to file on weight.
I cycle a lot in the summer. So I actually weight more in the winter, depsite skiing. It simply isn't as hard an exercise as road and mountain biking. I'm far from fat. But I can put it on if I stop cycling and winter sports.
I always thought people live in colder places need the extra fat for the winter. So skiers, whether they actually live in cold places, can justify their extra fat.
