beequin, no, they are being belayed/lowered down by what I assume was their guide rather than abseiling. The rope has been bought up to lower the next guy which is what you can see being passed with a carabiner attached to the end. You can see the guide abbing down from 1.45 though.

Loved the first video. Truly beautiful skiing. The second video was 1:48 of woowoo-poo-poo before we even saw her ski.  Who wants all that wanky stuff?
