Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Recommend cheap hotel around Dijon?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

Just waiting in traffic for tunnel, arrived here later than planned due to someone leaving the fridge plugged in overnight in car, totally flat battery this morning! Now there is a long delay for check in. So not getting as near to Geneva as originally planned.

So can anyone recommend somewhere around Dijon?

Thanks

Gilly28, There are several Hotel BB around Dijon, I usually use the Dijon Nord one but have used both Dijon Sud ones too.

+1 for BB chain - I've used Annecy - does exactly what it says on the tin - hi speed free wifi too.

+1 for BB, but a quick look on t'interweb says all BB at Dijon, Annecy and Beaune are full, some rooms at Besacon or Chalon Sur Saone depending on your final destination and route options

Noticed they r full and the Charon sur one only had rooms for 2, but we have our 5 year old with us. Heading towards Geneva as picking up friends in morning from airport. Was hoping to get nearer Geneva but won't now with the delay. That's us just about to head off the tunnel.

hi
we have used the F1 dijon nord couple of times, basic, but immaculate, secure parking and a decent coffee machine in the morning - normally really cheap too, does us fine for a place to lay your head for the night

IF you can make it as far a Nuit St Georges, there is an Ibis just off the autoroute.

No rooms for 3Hells Bells, !!

Friends tried Troyes for us with no luck, we are heading to Dijon and friends are google mapping between Troyes and Dijon to see if they can find anywhere. Need to have somewhere with an open reception too! Nightmare!

cbowls30, the Dijon sud is that the one with the address as 21300 chenove? Looks like a room available there, but don't want to book wrong place! Plus if reception closed, would we get access?

HI might be too late to tell you know but when you book they give you a key-code to use at the front door and also to your room, reception isn't always manned - its never been a problem

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Hope you made it OK in the end. For future reference get someone to check Logis de France website if the usual suspects are fully booked. Often very good value as they nearly all have family rooms or can take an extra bed.

Thanks everyone for the help. In the end we found a small family run hotel ins town near Troyes, can't recall name offhand, something like Chauntan( totally wrong obviously). Rocked up about midnight and they had a room (honestly we had tried so many that were full I was starting to feel like Mary and Joseph!!)

They were going to put a third bed in for the wee one, but took so long and when asked they still couldn't find one, so we said fine he can just share with us. Just desperate to go to sleep.

So we're in montchavin and loving it!!

Thanks again!
