Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Trip Report - Ste Foye/Espace Killy - 16-22 March 2013

Just back! Not glad to be home after another fantastic hol in Espace Killy - after about 10 or 12 visits I'm glad to report that it's never failed to deliver Very Happy.

After a bluebird half day at Sainte Foye on arrival day, the weather was snowy/stormy/windy/very cold for a couple of days. After that, the sun came out for some epic powder conditions. The amount of snow in resort is pretty phenomenal and snow conditions were nigh on perfect on almost every run. It warmed up to an alleged 16C in Val Claret on our last day - which made it a bit warm for skiing in a thermal vest Cool....Nevertheless, a fantastic trip.

Ste Foye was great. It was our first visit and we loved it - cheap half day ticket (€22 - ie cheaper than an hour at Xscape...), big vertical, great cruising pistes and very quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely village too.

We also went to watch the X Games Men's Superpipe - great atmosphere and absolutely astonishing skiing.

The only blow was the nine and a quarter hour delay that we had at Chambery airport with our Jet 2 return flight yesterday.....(technical problem with the plane and then the airport evacuated due to a bomb scare). Not the greatest airport to spend a day at - facilities hopelessly inadequate for the thousands of passengers who were there. We sat on the floor for about five hours - and stood in the carpark for about two hours during the bombscare Confused
