Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Old freestyle training jumps (hard to see on pic but assume that under the snow beneath them is a lake or river).

From the days when full-double-fulls were the buzzwords rather than corked switch whatevers...

This thread reminds me of when we went to La Molina when I was a girl. The brochure had described the hotel as on a couple of hundred meters from the nearest lift but we were a lot further out than that. We went hiking through the trees and eventually located the old abandoned wooden (rotting) chair lift.

Fortress was a great little hill with an old wooden hotel very reminiscent of the Shining. I thought The Inception money had enabled them to fix the bridge & road so potentially it could get going again.

indeed have got hooked into this today - found this below - 601 (!) abandoned areas in Adirondacks in NY State - I assume many like the single-lift village slopes throughout the Valais in Switzerland (interesting project would be to ski them all one season)

I always think ghost towns are always very intriguing, these abandoned ski resorts even more so!

Now I have something to make the next 3 hours of my night shift go a little quicker!

I have heard it is going to reopen and may have three times the acrerage. Asfatbob, says, the bridge was fixed by the movie Inception and they are working towards opening it. They update their facebook page occasionally with details.

Fortress is hardly enroute from Jasper?

There are even bits of abandoned lift infrastructure here in Iceland. I should snap some photos next time.

How do you drive through Kannanaskis on route between Calgary and Jasper? Red Deer or LL routes surely?
