Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

An article I wrote a couple of years ago on the BSA, so a bit out of date (eg Buzz no longer exists).... (might be slow to load cos of photos)

All down to money in the end.... but the British Ski Academy in Les Houches helped the likes of Duncan White (ref. GB's rising stars thread, new downhill British Junior champion) on their way. If you can afford it - although grants are available - the BSA will take your child for the winter term, combining skiing in the morning with academic studies in the afternoon, throughout the season.
Some of their occasional pupils, still only 12 or 13, are already making big waves in the French domestic race scene - fantastic little skiers. When the Children's Championships take place in Meribel in 9 days' time, you'll see a fair few of 'BSA' mentions after the names of the skiers in the top ten of the various categories.

Bursaries are being provided by Thomson
to children (born 90, 91, 29, 93) who win the dry slope Grand Prix series this summer... A couple of weeks at the BSA each. (Last year's winners
on the Thomson site
).
Well worth it! Malcolm Erskine's
'British Ski Academy'
produces some superb young racers who have gone on to do really well at the British Children's Championships on snow in Austria and France over the years.
