Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chemmy's 2013 season is over

Chemmy has taken the tough decision to write off the 2013 season by going back to hospital to have the metalwork removed from the leg she broke in a crash - but she hopes to be skiing again by the end of the northern hemisphere summer

Let's hope that's all straightforward - she deserves to be skiing pain-free, that's for sure. My brother had a leg with a plate after a motor bike crash (he slowed down and signalled a right turn, the two cars behind him slowed down behind him but a third idiot overtook the lot of them at speed and smashed into his right leg as he turned Sad ). He had a second op to get rid of the metalwork but they couldn't do it - some bone had regrown over the edges and there was some story of self-tapping screws. Chemmy - hopefully - will get better treatment.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

pam w, she is being looked after by the Austrian ski team's specialist in Innsbruck. Let's hope she stays long enough for them to help her well along the way before returning to the UK.

I've got Austrian metalwork in my right knee that should have been removed 12 weeks after it was put in. Sadly the UK specialists decided that they should stay in longer and by the time they thought about taking it out it was buried in new bone. I get problems with it in really cold weather and a couple of times the airport scanners have picked it out and I've been pulled aside. For the "treatment"! Skullie

I've hived off the discussion about Nick Fellows to a separate thread in The piste - it's not really appropriate on this thread. You can find it here

In better news Chemmy's operation seems to have gone well according to this picture and post on Facebook

It seems she is feeling well enough to answer questions as well and will be hosting a Q&A session tomorrow (Sun 3rd march)
