I am traveling with my family to Geneva by train on March 28th. We want to go to Chamonix without having to go to the airport. Any suggestions ? We also do not want to rent a car as we are a group of seven

Go to the airport it's 5 mins extra on the train...
Then from the station at the airport to the transfer desks is about 100m walk...
With 7 of you book a private transfer then you won't have to hang around waiting for other passenger(s).

The SAT bus stops at the station. However, at €33 each way it might be cheaper (and will certainly be more convenient) just to arrange a private transfer with one of the minibus companies. If there's 7 of you I'm sure one of those will pick you up at the station, it seems pointless for you and them to go out to the airport when you pretty much fill the minibus.

Depending on where your train is coming from, some go through the Airport Station (which is part of the terminal complex) before arriving in the centre of Geneva. Failing that, we're happy to collect you from the Station.

I am not sure if the train stops at the air port. Will check it. If not then will the cost of transport be the same as airport to Chamonix ? Is this a door to door service ?

You'll need to Register first of course.

If you are going to book a private transfer then you might as well have them pick you up from Cornavin Station. Beware that some companies charge more to pick you up from the Geneva city (as opposed to the airport).

Gare Routier is a short walk from Cornavin (about 5 min) and buses run regularly. I don't have the link here, but google Gare Routier Geneva and there will be a timetable for all served Alpine Stations.

Buses to Chamonix stop at the train station anyway (and the airport). On a weekend they run 6 times a day in winter, in the week only twice (see link in my earlier reply). Given the cost of the bus fare I suspect a group of 7 would find it cheaper to get a shared minibus.
