Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

And then, after 5 days, the snow stopped falling :-)

I can't help notice that Sebastiano appears to have forgone his Eurotest "safety" technique and skis in favour of something irresponsible and that Wayne is not wearing the appropriate safety headgear of his fishing hat.

A poor example to us all from those that should know better.

Yeah ok (suck it up) I admit it, there are (a few) times when fats do come in handy.

Mine are almost skinnies at 95mm underfoot. Not a clue what the other two were on (dead fat) but poor old Flav came straight from a lesson and had some 88mm’s on and keep sinking whenever had stopped.

As for the head gear – aw hell, what can go wrong
(Go on, you know you want to post a few thoughtful studies NehNeh )

I can see more clearly now - with a few more patches on his jacket and some chewing baccy that Wayneo character would be all over the Nascar look.

You going to be promo'ing Folgarida as the new pow pow paradise?

Nope. If you really want know (please don’t tell anyone as they’ll mess it up with Z shaped tracks all over the place) the pics were taken on the route down from Monte Vigo towards Mastelina Piste (go round the back of the small hill to the right of main 6 man chair. When you get to the top of the small cliff (which keeps most people away) take a left for about 20m then drop into the chute (looks much scarier than it is – once you’re in it). At the end of the chute head down towards big gap in the forest. From there you’re on your own.

Mind you, I think we're heading off to The Lake tomorrow. Oh, when you say The Lake you should be thinking of the soundtrack to Jaws, just so you get in the right frame of mind. I'll take and post some pics but ONLY if you promise not to let the FrenchyLovers know that you can ski anything but blue runs round here

Wayne know where you mean, though obviously being a groomer lover (or iced black mogul runs where I can reasonably be expected to use other holiday makers to arrest out of control descents wink ), I haven't deigned to take that right turn Laughing

I know I said I’d post some pics of The Lake route but I’ve (sort of) changed my mind as, on seconds thoughts, it’s a bit much for some people. I don’t want to get blamed if it goes wrong.

But for the sake of information:
Take the piste down from the Orso Bruno cafe towards marilleva
About 400m below the Orso Bruno, where the piste turns sharp right, don’t – jump the side of the piste (go for it)towards the trees - just at the start of the right hand bend in the piste
Follow the gap for about 200m then turn left down the gully.
After that you’re on your own.

NOTE you can NOT side slip between the trees in the centre section and it’s too steep to plough, so if you can’t “ski” between trees with confidence, then don’t go, or you'll be sad Shocked .

This is the open section going towards the gully

Flavio playing silly bugs

The Lake (if you arrive here then you have almost finished).

After The Lake turn sharp left between the old pylon and the large rock (gap about 1m) and then traverse and generally head downwards and you should either end up under the Campiglio/Marilleva link lift and around the empty space below the lift up into Campiglio.7

Have fun

Funnily enough, in Folgarida last week, the lady in the lift pass office informed me that I would need my 'group leader, Wayneo' to alter my pass.

Looks like a name-change is in order Wink
