Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Time for a cheeky couple of hours in Villars today after landing. Snowing heavily at Col de Bretaye and then faded. About 8 to 10 ins of fresh snow on top of compacted powder and still room for freshies, even near the pistes. Not too busy for half term week either. Morgins tomorrow and apparently they had 40 cm the oyher day snowHead

Lots of evidence of the vast quantities of snow they've had in the PdS but we had to work predictably hard to find any that wasn't trashed. The morning was spent blasting chopped powder between Morgins and Crosets. Weather was superb but this meant the fresher stuff on south slopes started to soften and slide by lunchtime. We stuck to north slopes in the afternoon and even found a decent steepish pitch that was totally untracked after a cheeky 10 min hike. To end the day we skied the Morgins trees, which are still in great nick, although tracked.

Heading to Schwarzee tomorrow to escape the crowds and get some touring in with any luck.

Another bluebird day, very cold to start. Headed to Schwarzsee, 40 mins from Fribourg. Very busy given the weather but relatively few people were skiing away from the pistes. Despite 3d+ since last snow, we managed probably the best lines of the weekend with a bit of effort: whether it was a 10 min traverse or a 20 min skin. Now that the sun's been out, south facing slopes were in a spring snow cycle. Solid sun crust in the morning, almost thick enough to hold weight in a turn. North slopes remained soft all day snowHead

Mike Pow, yes! First couple of days were spent mopping up powder from the previous week's weather. Now in a high pressure system. Was back in the PdS at Champery today for a few hours prior to flying home. Anything in the sun was baked to a crisp. I still manged to find some likely tracked powder in Champoussin, which only needed an easy 5 min hike to get to. South facing slopes weren't too fun and had been sun affected for the top 6 ins. Fantastic weather again though and warmer than the previous days
