Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bansko with young Children

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have booked a week in Bansko from 19th Feb and this will be our first time to this resort. We are a family with 4 children (41/2,6,8,10yrs).

Does anybody have advice on ski school for my youngest? She is 4 1/2 years old and had group ski lessons last year in France. She is confident on green/blue slops and can use a drag lift.

Most companies offering group tuition seem to require the child to be at least 6 years old and suggest we put her into the "Kindergarten". I get the impression they won't do much skiing at Kindergarten from chatting to a friend who visited last year (no children).

So the questions I have are:
1) Can anybody recommend a company which might be prepared to take a 4 1/2 into a ski class?
2) Does anybody have any experiences with the Kindergarten?

Also recommendations for equipment hire would be appreciated.

Many thanks

SnowSpyder, welcome to Snowheads snowHead
Lesson learnt here maybe: check out ski schools before booking holiday Puzzled

I haven't been to Bansko but me replying will bump this up.

On a general point if your daughters already happily done a week of group lessons I wouldn't even consider klndergarten.

Doing a quick google I found this http://banskoskischool.info/en/prices-services#grupovodeca and found no mention of a lower age limit?

From what I've read about other snowheads usually these places are flexible. All that really matters is that go to toilet by themselves, etc and cope with the skiing. But that is not specific just what I've seen been discussed. It may be worth emailing some of the ski schools to confirm their policy.

I think Bansko SkiMania will take your youngest in group lessons, the "official" ski school run by the lift company (I think), will only take children from 7 yrs. We got private lessons for our (then) 5 yr old a few yrs back, as lessons were so cheap and it seemed well worth the spend.

Hi Layne

Many thanks for your reply helpful reply. I did email a few places who all recommended kindergarten, but the one you found looked quite good from the website.. I've emailed them and will see what they say. And will keep looking around.

Hi Babs

I emailed Lance from BanksoBlog.com who seems to be affiliated with Skimania. He suggested kindergarten or possibly some private lessons.. I might try them directly and see if I get a different response.

Thanks

just back from Bansko. used ski mania for ski rental and lessons . Couldn,t recomend them highly enough,
me being a nightmare , always late for lessons, they always sorted me an instructor. if the lesson started late it finished late. they did have some children but not sure of age. drop them an e mail and ask the question. the biggest problem with ulen are large groups.
