Hi
I've searched online but can't find an answer to the following. If i have a week (6 days) lift pass for the Morzine area, can I buy a "top-up" to enable me to pop over to Avoriaz for a day? Or do I need to cough up a whole days access i.e. no discount for the Morzine portion which I already have?

It already includes Avoriaz if its a 6 day pass - only shorter durations limit the area in the PDS. Enjoy.

Yes. I've done exactly this from the Swiss side. Can't see it being any different from Morzine.

Thanks guys. We have 6 day Morzine/Les Gets passes. Doesn't include Avoriaz unless you buy the full PDS pass. I'll feedback on return.

neilH, can only speak about Les Gets/Morzine pass....you can upgrade to PDS for a day with discount. Buy night before at pass office in LG and they look after your Les Gets pass until you get back.
If you try to get discount once in Avoriaz .... the computer says no. They don't care what Les Gets offer apparently

I was about to post the same question when I thought that I ought to search first. I still have a question, though. Do you need an Avoriaz (or PDS of course) pass to get on the Super Morzine gondola towards Avoriaz and on to where you could ski down to Avoriaz and buy a Avoriaz local day pass there?

Moondog, i think Super Morzine is on the Avoriaz pass. I think Morzine-Les Gets used to be more accurately described as Pleney-Nyon-Les Gets.
Also, if you only want to ski Avoriaz, buy an Avoriaz pass at the bottom of Super Morzine.

On to part 2 of the question. I can't find a description of which pistes and lifts are included in an Avoriaz local pass. Since they only do 1 or 2 days, can I assume that it doesn't cover very much? On the other hand, a local Avoriaz pass costs more than a Morzine/Les Gets pass so should cover more!
I wanted to go to Italy again but one of the party has a daughter in Morzine.

Ummm, have you looked at the Avoriaz website?
As I've got it handy, you want this. There's this terribly handy site called Google you know...

It's not that it doesn't cover so much, there's probably a presumption that if you are there for more than the day you will want to explore the PDS (in fairness, that's not an unreasonable position...)

Well, I did look at the Avoriaz website but didn't find this bit. I thought that it would be with the prices.

In fairness, the Avoriaz site, in common with just about every other resort website I have ever viewed SPENDS ALL ITS TIME HIDING THE USEFUL INFORMATION.
IF I WANT TO KNOW ALL ABOUT THE WATERPARK I AM LOOKING FOR A BEACH HOLIDAY.
