Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone been here? It's near Zell Am See and get's a great recommendation in the Guardian but it only has a paragraph in Where to Ski and Snowboard. Anyone know what the skiing is like?

Well, have been to Maria Alm which v nice and is linked along with Muhlbach. It's a very pleasant ski area, nothing gnarly about at. Lots of terrain to keep you busy.

What's the off-piste like?

BenTisdall, Only did Maria Alm and only briefly. It's all very piste-oriented so I'd say you won't exactly be in off-piste heaven.

There are some fabulous off-piste opportunities but not a lot is lift-served. Dienten is the middle of the three inter-linked resorts of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach and are collectively known as the Hochkönig. I've been going there on and off since the late 1980s. It is very much a hidden jewel as far as the UK market is concerned, and to be honest, I hope it stays that way.

BenTisdall, try looking under the Hochkönig instead of just Dienten.

It is part of Ski Amadé; so have a look on their website too.
Very pretty area, very family orientated.
I haven't skied off-piste there but I think there was a video on Ski Sunday last year.
The area is very wooded so finding some tree skiing certainly won't be a problem!

Bode Swiller, they also did a report on the Hochkönig I remember watching it as it featured the Maria alm end mostly and included my friend's chalet.

Do you have a link to the report?

My Brothers Father in Law owns a place there and I really cannot recommed it more!

Massive scope now with all the left improvements, lots of great terrain parks.

I thoroughly recommend Peters Bar in Dienten for Apres fun!
