Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cheap entry level freeride ski

Hi
Looking to buy a par of skis that will suit pistes but also allow me to get into the powder and enjoy a bit of off piste when conditions are right. Any recommendations on what ski? And where I would be able to get a good deal or ex hire? Any info appreciated. Thanks

Bap10, Welcome to Snowheads snowHead

Sorry but your criteria is just too wide. Your best bet is try out a few different ones whilst out skiing or in a fridge to get an idea of what suits. Different physiques, style of skiing means what's good for one isn't good for another. Once you've an idea of what you want people can point you in the direction of good deals or similar ski's to try.

Just as a shot out the blue.. I ski Rossignol Bandit B2's. They have a rep for being steady eddy ski's but I had there predecessor and the work pretty well for me. Purchased on ebay second hand for about £115. I bought a pair of stiff Movement ski's blind (because they were "a bargain") but I hated them and sold them on after one weeks use. I wouldn't buy ski's I hadn't tried again. I need an all mountain ski, which is pretty much what you want.

I like the idea of an "entry level freeride ski" wink

Any ideas for budget or location? What sort of skiier are you?
