Poster: A snowHead
|
My daughter is doing a season in France and has bought a pair of k2 miss demeanours on line and they are just delivered box fresh - but not sure if they are too long. She's 169 cm tall and so are the skis.... I'm a boring piste skier and these look fat and long! I've no knowledge of all mountain skis but she says she's skied this length a d likes them. She is 80pc piste and rest off piste and pretty good. Would be a pain to send back even if I could persuade her but don't want her to drill 400 quid skis if they won't work for her. Any advice ? Cheers

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Should be just fine, they are twin tip with rocker so will ski a lot shorter. Press them on the deck and see for yourself how much of the ski would actually be in contact with the snow. Much less than a piste ski of similar length.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes, I agree, she'll be fine. Get drilling!

kewhoward, Head height is fine... maybe even a little short. They will look fat and long -- but really they aren't...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I'm not sure of what the issue is here. She bought the skis, she's skied this length ski before, she is happy, you have no knowledge of all mountain skis. Not sure what you want us to say?

She's old enough to do a season she's old enough to decide what length skis she wants. Concentrate your energy on worrying about which inappropriate sleazeballs she's sleeping with.

No, on reflection DO worry about her ski length. If you worry about the alternative above you are definitely increasing your risk of heart attack or nervous breakdown 100%

End of thread! Seriously, if she is old enough to do a season, surely she is old enough to know if she likes a ski or not!!
FWIW my off piste skis are just over head height on me, my piste only/indoor skis are 24cm shorter than my off piste ones
