When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi there,

I want to buy these boots mail order and there is nowhere in the UK I can try them on first.

It's a long shot but does anyone have a size 29.0 in the Bristol area that I could try on in exchange for a beer?!

Can't help but take care I understand that the tlt5 can not be tinkered with much to improve fit etc. unlike the Mercury.

jbob, they can be stretched with VERY careful heating but you have to be extra careful not to heat too much or press too hard or you can open out the 'overlap' area that gives the forefoot flex... Had to have mine pushed out across the forefoot.

Order from somewhere with a good returns policy? Alternatively, this is a perfectly good excuse for a trip out to Chamonix or somewhere else with a decent selection of touring boot shops; the cost of a cheap airfair is negligible compared to a nice pair of new boots after all wink
