Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Shot liners?

I've been getting a nerve related pain in one foot, basically later in the day after say 4+ hours skiing shooting pains start to manifest in 3rd and 4th toe of my right foot. I first got this in snowboard boots where it was my lead foot and usually seemed to be a sign that the liners were packed out and needed replacing i.e. a new boot would solve it or a rebake of the liner buy me a bit more time.

Boots and liners have about 60 days on them I guess and were properly professionally fitted with a half cork superfeet footbed. Is there a life extension thing I can do like a rebake of liner? Or are they toast? Lifespan feels a bit short. Boots otherwise pretty comfy apart from known foot issues. Head stock (SH3?) liners. really don't want to go through pain of breaking in a zipfit and might be impossible due to some toe issues.

fatbob, they start dying from about 2 days and by 120 they should be buried in a hermetically sealed bag, re heating the liner will not help in terms of fluffing it up, if anything it will cause the padding to compress more... zip fit shouldn't cause any toes issues, it is all neoprene from the mid foot forward

OK Colin what you got? Do you do Intuition as well as Zipfit? What's the pros and cons? Thinking a con with the Zipfit being the fit your foot in the liner then liner in the boot schtick.

Neoprene on the outside, fluffy on the inside and mine are falling to pieces. The fluffy bits are full of holes ans are balling up into lumpy bits. The otherwise perfect liner is becoming unusable because the cosy bit is failing. Sad

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

fatbob, after moulding most people (unless in a race boot) can put the boot on in the conventional way, takes a bit of getting used to but for most people perfectly possible
don't have intuition but we have got Palau which is the french equivalent, they are warmer but don't give as much heel hold as a zip fit would... then of course there is foam injection (depending on sizes in stock, as i am not due any more till september)
