Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Maria Alm ski/boot storage at lifts

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
HI, We are going to Maria Alm next month and we're not staying in the village but 500m away. Does anyone know if there is ski/boot storage lockers closer to lifts so we don't have to walk the 500m in ski boots carrying our skis. I don't mind but teenagers seem to object and complain when they have to do this! Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

Just come back fom Maria Alm. Can't answer your question as I wasn't paying attention to that. But unless you are beginners you are likely to travel on the excellent free ski bus to the Aberg or similar each day. If so I suggest you take your skis with you as it really isn't a hassle and keeping your skis with you gives you that extra bit of flexibility which we liked. One day we decided to start off with the runs in town as the visibility was poor and we wanted to just do some short runs whilst the weather made its mind up as to what it was going to do. Another day we decided not to get off the ski bus at the Aberg but went on to Hintermoos and started our day from there.
On a couple of days we finished the day at Hintermoos rather than Aberg.
All in all, unless you are starting from a specific defined point each day (eg ski school) then I suggest you keep the flexibility.

Depends exactly where you're staying? If you're hiring skis then I'm sure the inter sport shop by the dorfjet gondola in the main village lets you store there, otherwise inter sport at the bottom of the Aberg gondola has lockers. But as JohnHSmith, there's many options to start and end your day? Remember you don't have to bus to the Aberg if you take the Dorfjet up and take the red underneath the dorfjet and round to the left, you can ski to the Aberg lift, just have to cross the road at the bottom to get to it.
