Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi,
I've just been trying to move the buckles on my Atomic boots, however one boot's screws were really tight and in am attempt to get them out the screw heads have become slightly rounded. Has anyone experienced this before? And does anyone have any solutions to the problem? As i cant find any spare screws online anywhere
Cheers

here is another query. i have rossignol ski boots, and the front clip is fastened to the boot by the plastic being melted through the fixing holes. these melted prongs are then spread so as to hold the fitting to the boot. these holding plastic prongs have not held on one of my boots. does anyone know if it is possible to have these clips remoulded on to the boot?

spacedimensioncontroller, we should have the spare screws in stock (guessing you mean the ones to move the buckle tooth plate)
gilgen, not quite sure what you mean, most clips are riveted or screwed in place, but if you post up a picture i may be able to help. whatever, it should be able to be re fixed in some way or replaced with something similar

thanks. yes, the fixings are unusual. instead of a rivet, the plastic of the boot is pushed through from below, and then expanded to act like a rivet. when the first one of these fixings parted company, a repairer fitted a vey short bolt. unfortunately this causes the over centre part, to sit slightly proud when fastened. another plastic "rivet" has failed, but i might try and have it drilled out and fitted with a metal rivet.

hi, thanks for the replies. it's not so much an issue of having lost a screw...just one boot's screws are very tight and pretty stupidly i think i've stripped the heads. so now ive got one tightened boot and one which remains as it was. basically how can you remove such a tight, now stripped, screw being that they are so small etc etc...?
probably should be on a general diy forum really

spacedimensioncontroller, the head needs to be carefully drilled off of it, slowly with something to cool the cut
