Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Given the forecast of snow overnight Friday we decided to pack up and leave after skiing on Friday afternoon, drive through the night rather than risk coming down the mountain with hoards of others in snow on changeover day. Did we make the right decision???? Who knows

The decision to up and leave compounded by discovering that euro tunnel was closing from 10pm on Saturday night until 7am Sunday for its annual safety check.........so If we missed our departure at 8.20pm and arrived after 10pm....the prospect of sitting in the car park overnight not a joyous thought

The journey to Calais for the euro tunnel was a long one.........approx 13 hours. Getting out of the mountains was the easy bit........snow on the roads all the way from langres to Calais.

French snow ploughs/gritters have a lot to answer for, three of them to do a dual carriage way letting no one past doing 30-40 mile stretches at 20mph!!!!!!!!

The tossers at euro tunnel wouldn't allow us on another train unless we paid another 70 quid despite it being a ghost town.

I think getting out of town early was the right decision given people's stories of nightmares getting to and at airports yesterday!!!!!!!".........despite feeling like death glad to be home after a great week with superb snow
