Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Arc 1800 Bar Crawl/Night Out?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi guys,

We've stayed in Vallandry a number of times but are yet to venture to Arc 1800 for a night out.

As its a group of six 25 yo lads coming away this time on the 1st Feb, we're going to give it a go.

I have two questions; firstly, is the walk back easily doable along the snow trail. From 1800 to Vallandry. We have a place near Rafaels, on the opposite side of the piste to Bar Mont Blanc.

Secondly, which is the best night to go out, is there an organised bar crawl or a particular event on a day in the week that is worth attending in 1800.

Thanks in advance for your answers,

Simon

N1VEN, yes very easy straight along the Foret green but dress for it and if truly ratted use the buddy system to count them out and count them back as it's still a mountain that can kill you. A midweek night is the Chalet Girl's night off for entertainment, check which when you get there. But for any chance of nocturnal neige nooky you will need to look like a young George Clooney and be hung like Shergar.

Have fun Twisted Evil

Great response, enjoyed reading that!

Fortunately all 6 of us, possess both of those qualities in abundance.

The question is, does anyone know which night of the week that is?

Usually wednesday Wink If you are going with a tour-op they will usually do a bar crawl. If not then the most common day for those is monday and they are easy to join. Reps wear company colour - crawls usually start at 7:30 ish. Slip any rep E5 or so and they will give you the relevant vouchers for the free drinks usually (win win for them and you). enjoy!

If Wednesday is day off though Tuesday night might be the better night out as they don't have to get up for work the next day.

Tuesday night/Wednesday day off only really works for chalet hosts. There are hardly any chalets in Arc 1800 so it has little effect on the nights out. As a.j. says the TOs do bar crawl on Monday nights, typically ending up in the Apo.
