Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Solo female snowboarder - w/c 10th or 17th Feb

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, while waiting for my friends to get their plans together, I missed the opportunity to book into the UCPA in Val Thoren (sold out!). Now my friends are not going at all and I have no plans either!

Due to work commitments, I can only travel during the weeks of 10th or 17th Feb and I am happy to go alone, as I always make new friends regardless, but hope not to pay a huge single supplement if possible. If anyone is interested in joining me, I am pretty sure I can find us a great deal (always easier for 2+ than for a solo person!). I am not fussed if you are male, female, skier or snowboarder (or group) as long as you are a pleasant travel companion! I enjoy organising things, so I'm equally happy to do the legwork and propose some options.

My original plan was Val Thoren, alternatively considering Laax, but also open to other suggestions..?

Thanks,
Janus

34, female, intermediate snowboarder, American living in London...

Yes, flying to Rome or Munich, transfer to Turin (Torino) and once there use the services of a connection I received from one of the snowheads to get to Sestriere by car or take the train to Oulx and then bus to the village. I know that train is dirt cheap, have to find out the cost for the taxi service.

Hi Janus

I may be up for this if you're going 10 - 17 (or 9 - 16). Am hoping my pal will get it together and book up but he's been known to flake in the past. We are intermediate boarders and looking for cheap cheapies so possibly Italy if we can handle the drags or maybe Andorra. Into snow more than partying (he's 36, I'm 42 and female).

3 berth studio might be cosy but I can bunk up with him if nec (we are just friends!). I'm Bristol and he's Weymouth so could fly any SW airport or S London. There seems to be plenty from Gatwick atm.

lwgski - if you wanted to join we'd be happy with that!

Let me know
Chrys

I have room.

American living in Amsterdam, mother of 2 girls. The three of skiing in Megeve, we have a big place, ski-in, ski-out. £115 per week, self catered, I bring most of my food in the car. But there is a snack bar next door with awesome crepes!

Sleeping is 3 sets of bunk beds, and a two person bed in one room. Nice accommodations, so far it's just the three of us, room for more, but don't need it completely full, 6 or 7 total would be nice.

Price includes, cleaning, bed linens, heating, but you have to bring your own towel. It is a 50 meter downhill ski to the La Petite Fontaine lift in Megeve.

Kids are well behaved, social and are just basically skiing animals.

I was looking to go to chamonix 9-12. Don't know if anyone is into sharing a place there. I have had a look at Val Thorens, but I am flying in and out of geneva. my flight out of geneva is on the night of the 12th and I want a full day of skiing that day.

How far is Val From geneva?
