Poster: A snowHead

Hi All
I wonder if someone could give me somw ski boots advice. I am a lower intemediate skier and I have just bought a set of Atomic B5's, up until now I have always hired my equipment. so I have now decided to take the plunge and hopefully it will help improve my skiing. My foot width is a medium fitting so nothing to narrow would be fine.
Any advice would be most appreciated
Thanks

Came across this company in Edinburgh - Snowlines; they have a 'Footworks' bootfitting department
http://www.snowlines.co.uk/acatalog/skiingandboarding.html
quote from webpage: "The bootfitting staff at Footworks are all trained by Anatom Academy and American guru Phil Oren. We also have our own consultant C.Ped "Colin Martin" who is one of the very few specialists to have obtained this highly regarded qualification. Footworks Staff are specialist in the evaluation and remedies of foot problems such as overpronation, supination and all aspects of the lower leg. With a combined 60 years experience of fitting ski boots and with the extensive knowledge gained in this time, Footworks have the confidence and techniques to fit their customers into the correct ski or snowboarding boots"
- unfortunately I don't know of anyone that has used them for bootfitting.

I've heard people here mention an amazing boot-fitting place in Cham - I'm sure someone will pop on here an give you more details. Most seem to agree that you should buy in resort, as whoever you buy from will generally tweak your boots for free over the first few days of skiing, so as to get the perfect fit.

This makes my blood boil. Please no more metion of the, so called, 'Footworks at Snowlines' thing. 'Footworks' Chamonix has, NO CONNECTION, with these people, or never has done. Footworks Chamonix worked hard for 13years, against the grain, to build up a reputation. A few mutual contacts and 12years later, Footworks at Snowlines opened. Footworks, Chamonix had only patanted there name in France, as is need, never imagining it would become the institution it is. These people at Snowlines, have claimed it is a coincidence, whilst using the same suppliers and mixing in the same cicles.
I have my doubts. Colin Martin is also, a fish.
