Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

There is a big gap in the snow reports for Switzerland and Italy. It would be great if you've just returned and could post an accurate report on the conditions. I'm heading for the Alps on Tuesday and haven't yet decided where to go. Probably looking at somewhere with north facing slopes and in range (3 hours)of Milan like Davos/Klosters to try and find some Powder.

, best chance of powder for that period is probably eastern Austria (east of Innsbruck and north of th ealpine ridge basically) which is about to get a megadump over the next few days (up to a metre is forecast), relatively little forcast for switz or italy in the same period
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sadly that's out of range as we have only got 4 days and want to ski every day and not spend 2 days driving. So looking for the best snow within 3 hours of Malpensa. It looks like NE will the best bet.

, It's going to be tough to find powder within range. I'm headed to Milan on Sunday from the US. The plan was to ski Alagna, but our guide is going to drive us to Lauchernalp-Lotschental, Switzerland instead, which looks to be just over a 4 hour drive. Andermatt and Engelberg might suit you well. Both are in range and are excellent ski areas. You could do one or both as they are reasonably close together.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Mind if I hijack this thread? But what are the conditions like in Chamonix?
