Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Found my first board...

After a succesful first holiday on a board have decided that I need to purchase my own board and bindings.
Ellis Brigham is next to my gym and i think i've found a great set up yesterday

This is the board - new to market but the guys in the shop raved about it - and a couple of comments on the internet suggest its a really good beginner board which will carry me through to being an intermediate at a great price.

I was planning on getting some flow bindings, but they were so heavy compared to these bindings that I'm going to put these burton bindings on the board.

Not really asking a question - just felt like sharing because I'm so excited!!!! Get paid on 15th Nov and I'll be in the shop to hand over my cash!!!!

and yah expect me to be happy for yah.... well I'm not ... I'm really really really jealous NehNeh

Well actually no I'm not... very nice!! Very Happy the Board sounds like a cracker... seems like a really good beginners board... I hope you have lots of fun with it...

now if you'll excuse me... I'm going to find a dark room and inflict some minor pain on myself.... I've wanted to buy a new board for the last three years .. but haven't been able to find what I want.. and this years kit spend has got to go on boot's, jacket pants and goggles and if I can stretch it .. a beanie Puzzled

At least I got new bindings last year Very Happy

BTW Hullo to all.... yes it's been a while... but I have been lurking.... just can't stand coming here too often in the off season as it makes me sad

2 months, 2 days and counting.... Avoriaz for Xmas.. lets all pray for snow!!

where there's a will there's a way... Unexpected bonus, else I'd have been looking at hiring again or something 2nd hand on ebay!
Speaking of which - why don't you take a look at home and see if there's anything you can sell on ebay to fund a new board??????

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

stop... you'll get me into trouble!! Very Happy I think I'll just about get a way with another season with my current board... 5 yr's old this December.. Plus I'm kinda back in love with it after last year... even though his name is trevor Very Happy Very Happy

Next year definitely.. this year boots are a must as last years I had so much heel lift in one of my boots I had to learn to ride switch out of necessity rather than for fun, and traversing on toe edge was impossible by lunchtime.

Definitely time for some boot research wink

Just binned my old Salamon Dialogue Boots (6 years old and beyond disgusting) to some 2006 model Synapses. Luv em. Fancied the Vans BFB's as Tony Lane got a pair and rated them, just didn't fit me feet as well as the Synapses.

No new board this year though. Every year I find it harder and harder to resist a Lib Tech as they are the ze nuts of ze muts. My Ride Timeless is the biz, quick, stiff (matron!) and very very fast!!!! But If I want to do some 180s, nose presses and butters I need a board with more flex don't I????? Aaaaaaaaaaaargh! resist, resist!!!!! you only got it 3 years ago!!!

Mine are a pair of Dialogue boot's as well... quite surprised how much they went... only bought back in 02/03.. probably caused by too many nights dancing in kokodi's Laughing Laughing oh well...

Not sure what to get this time around. I fancy something a bit stiffer this time around (obligatory ooh er missus inserted Laughing ) Have looked at the BFB's and Synapse, but read the sales blurb/review of northwave's Concept 2 boot on TSA website ....the reviewer seems to rave about them... then again it's all down to fit and external boot size. I bought a pair of K2 cinch bindings last year and the easy in/out system was slightly inhibited by the size of me boot, seemd fine in the shop when I tried them with my boot.... but it's a whole differnt ball game when stood on the side of a mountain in snooo Sad

As for boards.... don't get me started I have a list as long as ... a very long list!! Frontrunners are still K2 nemisis which I have been drooling over for the last season and Nitros new mid-wide board the Pantera... didn't they use to be a death, thrash scary metal band???

Ahh I can see me headbanging all the way down the slopes........ Puzzled hmmm maybe not!

Philip - a kind mod has tidied up my links!!!!!
The board is Icon Wallpaper - and is a sintered base for only £200!
I'm a bit of a 'brand' snob - but the guys in the shop were really enthusiastic after their training sessions on this years boards. I was sceptical it was a sales pitch till I found some other positive comments on a snowboard discussion site - so I'm going to go for it!

Also the nice people in Ellis Brigham swapped the boot and ski bag I won earlier in the week for a nice big wheelie snowboard bag to put it all in!!!!

I can't stop smiling....

 You know it makes sense.

Sod payday, hello VISA. Normally v.careful on that kind of thing but have been itching for a new board. Parking a Volvo is not sexy.

In a delirium of brands, fantasies, narcissisum and Winter excitement I've managed to burn a hole within the last three weeks purchasing:

- Rome Solution 163 (read 'Top Gun', Tom Cruise: I feel, the need, for speeeeed)
- Salomon Synapse boots (so comfy! Kind of like being hungover and realising you don't have to go ito work. Althogether now, ahhh...)
- Salomon SPX44 bindings (not too much to say about these as they were bought broadly on recommendation. They are very
light and although Salomon isn't the 'coolest' of brands in the boarding fraternity if the live up to the standard of my boots I
couldn't give a toss.

36 days and counting.......... snowHead
