Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi all hope someone can help?

Found what looks like a good deal with skifrance but not really heard of them, see they use Monarch for flights.

Anyone had any experience of them?

oldmike, Only been with them once on a cheap week in Meribel but didn't use the flights. It was great value and the food was good and chalet staff very friendly. I'd certainly use them again for a good deal.

I went with them (booked through Igluski) back in January to L2A.... flights were decent (they charge about £30 ski/board carriage per person I think) and although first impressions when we arrived at Grenoble was of a group of slightly scatty people, due to the coaches being stuck somewhere, they put on private MPV taxis for us that got us there much quicker and at a cost to SkiFrance of about €190 per car. Very good service.

Our hotel manager was excellent, a Scots guy I can't remember a name for, who did a good job in letting us know what was on offer in resort. The accommodation was okay as a somewhere to rest our heads but wasn't in a great state and just felt very tired. The food wasn't great - it was just a bit boring and basic - and the portions were a bit stinjy... for the money we paid (£299ea) though it was decent value but I felt sorry for the people who'd paid a lot more...

I'd use them again though if the right deal came up - some decent properties they're offering on a 48-hour sale at good prices....

Went with them a couple of years ago to meribel (mate booked it), decent chalet/apartment, decent sized rooms, and nice communal area although (as often is the case) we struggled to find comfy seats for eveyone. Chalet hosts were pretty younf but still managed to pull together some decent nosh - not fantastic, but perfectly adequate and no complaints about portion sizes. Transport seemed to work as well as would be expected for a peak week.

One of the group did their ACL on the first morning (rotten luck) and the rep was absolutely first class, sorted out crutches, did lots of running around to/from med centre and other general helping out - really was terriffic, and that carried out right through the rest of the week

We stayed with them last week. Loved our chalet hosts and they fed us loads of food and the odd canape so we were definitely not hungry. Our host was a very good cook so we had nice dinners like roast turkey, duck confit, raclette etc. Couldn't fault them on this front.

The only reservation I would have is that they use Monarch for for flights. We had the Flights From Hell last week as we were delayed 24 hours outbound and 6 hours inbound at Gatwick and Grenoble, due to faulty planes, as were most Monarch ski flights on these weekends. Monarch really couldn't give a stuff and the TO rightly or wrongly took the line "it's not our fault" which is fine but disappointing when you're paying for 6 days of skiing and lose one, plus Monarch didn't load approx 20% of bags on the outbound! No airline is perfect but given I fly most weeks for work and rarely experience such delays, my experience with Monarch now after a couple of experiences is that punctuality is not their selling point so will be reluctant to use them again.

I used SkiFrance (through Iglu) a couple of years ago, to Les Menuires. Everything went smoothly, but didn't see the rep from arrival until the coach pulled up for departures. If it hadn't all gone smoothly, not sure what we would have done.

I have flown to the alps with Monach 3 times and I don't think a single one of those 6 flights has been on time! I guess they have a tight turn-around schedule so one small incident earlier in the day causes loads of lost time and lost slots by the time you get to the afternoon flights.

Many thanks for all your answers,

1.25 pm out of Gatwick, 5.30 out of Grenoble.

Spent many trips on mon2620 no problems but their recent history seems a bit shakey.

Just hope guy I've shared with last couple of years gets back to me, not much espace Killy about by the look of things well not cheap anyway

Those were our flight times - we eventually took off at 11am on Sunday 23rd on MON6072 and then took off at 10.15pm on MON6073 on Saturday 29th. On the 22nd, 300 odd pax on the 5.30pm MON6073 flight spent all day at Grenoble before finally leaving around 3pm the next day (one of my ski party's Mum was on the flight!).

As I said, can't fault our chalet hosts on a fun week once we got there but it certainly wasn't a happy start to our week a few days before Xmas.
