Hi all
Am going to Kitzbuhel next month. Am looking for places to eat for lunch and bars to go to in the evening. Also a good restaurant for the occasional evening meal.
Many thanks

Been a long time since I've been there but I presume the Londoner and Big Ben are both still in business. As for an evening meal, how about a Mexican night in La Bamba in Kirchberg, just down the road? Really depends on your idea of a good night out, quite and sophisticated or dancing on tables?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The ribs at Bärenbadalm are very good. Try and get a table in the room with the log fire and ski porn.

Indeed they are. I'd suggest you either get there early or try and reserve a table and ask them to save some ribs, they always sell out.
We found all the mountain places we tried were pretty good. Bärenbadalm was probably the best, the place half way down the run towards Pass Thurn from Resterhohe is also very good.

Food in the Zurtenne Hotel is good. If you want to spoil yourself the Michelin restaurant in A Rosa is amazing!!

If it is the other end of the spectrum you are looking for, try the hot dog stand outside the Londoner or the kebab shop opposite O'Flanagan's, which also sells very nice spices pizzas. You can also get a50Euro burger at Sigi's, or you could in the summer anyway. It is MASSIVE and feeds around 6 people.
Setting off tomorrow so very excited! (sorry for repeating that last statement from another thread, but I am!)

On the pistes here are some huts I have enjoyed, with the number given on the piste plan (and, in brackets, the piste number):
Berghaus Tyrol 18 (36) - on the Hahnenkamm
Melkalm 17 (19) - on piste from Hahnenkamm to Ehrenbachgraben
Gauxerstadl 7 (31) - on run down to Pengelstein I gondola
Toni-Alm 52 (77) - on the piste by the Panoramabahn gondola at Pass Thurn
Jägerwurzhütte 9 (66) - on the Wurzhöhe, down from the Jochberg end of the 3S lift
There are plenty others too!

Ooh I had forgotten the wurst stand down the bottom of the town. A definite favorite of ours too. There is also a good Italian opposite the casino - cant remember the name but good food and amazingly nice staff.

Does the Londoner still exist? I was directed by the lady owners of the Milchbar near the HK lift not to bring my land speed record holder friend in again after his antics: seemed nice in there.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Londoner was still there last year. It is what it is and serves a purposes in KITZ I reckon. Some nights you want it, some nights you don't!! Have to say they really looked after our (drunken) friends and family a few days after our wedding in 2010. Couldn't say a bad word about the place - they coped with a bevy of gluhwein filled over excited Irish quite happily!!

wl, They do not like Australians that bring in their own beer, particularly when a whole table is drinking a beer they do not sell; another place we were asked to leave.

Damn them. Damn them to hell!! I do recall being served vodka and red bull in a glass welly that had so much drool on it (albeit belinging to my friends) I retched. Although on the plus side my friend Lorraine stood on the bar to get a ring of the cow bell (in her ski boots, quite lethal, she was sloshed) and the bouncer just picked her up and placed her back down in front of her drink. I was quite impressed....at home she would have been marched outside!!
