Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski tour bindings for young kids

Poster: A snowHead
My son is very keen to come ski touring with mum and dad. He's only 6.5 years so has rather small feet. His boot sole length is 241mm but the smallest sole length requirement for a tour binding I've seen is 260mm. I've seen these BCA adaptors that take 240mm boots, http://www.facewest.co.uk/BCA-Alpine-Trekkers.html. Anyone know of any other options or views on the adaptors? I think adaptors would be good enough as he only wants to come up on easy on piste or forest roads type tours and it means he keeps his regular skis and bindings for the downhill. I did use adaptors myself years back, remember them adding plenty of height when in use and quite heavy. Hmm too heavy for a little kid? Went to hire some kit for him today and he was most upset they didn't have any smaller enough touring kit for him.

Maybe snow shoes and carry his skis.
I must say six seems young for anything too demanding anyway. Skinning on piste can be dangerous and is banned in some places due to risk of collisions.
