Some will like it, some won't, personally I think it's really funny and perhaps a bit softer then the one and only Belle de Neige!

Hmmm, quite insightful so far, although I know a number of young kids under 5 who love skiing and the mountains.
I would be a little shy of making myself too identifiable by my employer however!

As a man who deeply enjoys jazz, is re-building a 1981 BMW 323i and who has his own ski apartment, I found myself being slightly offended by that chalet toiling twerp. I recognise the male archytpe he is describing but they are almost totally the preserve of rented, all inclusive chalets in certain types of resorts. Chummy is way off the mark on a number of levels. The really affluent don't rent, they own - usually across generations - so he'd never get to meet them.
I hope his employer does stray across his site and clock him - he's not exactly being coy.

Well I thought it was a pretty decent blog. Having previously taken a career break to work winter seasons I find it interesting reading other people's views and experiences of life in the mountains. Cheers for sharing, argyleski (get on ya Janner....)

The guy's English is poor. His prose is clunky, his grammar bad, and he doesn't have anything interesting to say. Worst offence? He just isn't funny - he simply comes across as a whiner.
Not even slightly comparable with Belle de Neige.

Hardly an 'insight' into Chalet life is it? Not many revelations there.
Seems like just an attempt at provoking people, looks to have done the job though!
Total bollox

I thought it was (is) well written and very observant - and it's mostly tongue in cheek - I mean, who'd actually believe the bit about the nannies and the ski instructors for heavens sake!

What a load of old poo-poo- I am sick of all this chalet slave style bandwagon jumping. If you were doing your season properly you wouldn't have time to bitch on your blog/book. Amateur.

In a mere three posts he managed to come across as sexist, racist and classist. Some may say that it's tongue-in-cheek; if that's the case it's a ham-fisted and unamusing attempt.
If you want to read tongue-in-cheek or pushing-the-boundaries stuff that is actually both entertaining and insightful, then just do a search here for Mr Piehole/paulio/Mr Technique (or whatever fiction suit he's wearing these days).

believe it or not, there are people outside those postcodes who can recognise poor grammar and writing when they see it. Even - though you probably won't believe it - people who aren't from England at all!

I think this guy is hitting a few raw nerves and a lot of people here don't like it.
But like it or not he is hitting a lot of nails in the head (eg re urban Scottish nannies. I noticed that too. What's that all about??)
This is what makes it so readable

It's a bit 'whiney' - don't like the punters, don't like kids, don't like nannies, don't like hot tubs...
Well Ok you hate it - so would I - but there's a limit to how much I can read about how much someone else doesn't like stuff

+1.
When it wasn't being offensive (I'm definitely a girl, definitely NOT there for the coffees, and my male friends get dragged along by me more often than not) it was boring.
I'd never heard of Belle de Neige before though, so that's a useful find out of it

For Pete's sake, it's a blog. Don't take it seriously. Not half as amusing as Belle de Neige, but not half as offensive, either.

It's an average blog. It's no more or less insightful / entertaining / boring than most others. He's a bit naive to make himself identifiable though (unless he's rich enough not to care about the risk of losing his job).

It's okay - written in a common tongue, trying a bit too hard in places to be tongue-in-cheek, but it's not offensive IMO. The entries are too short for my liking... I want a bit more meat to my blogs. Still, nothing to get upset about...
