Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Its the top of town, near the Rond Point.

Hmmmmm, Rond Point.....A good place to stay near, as it is a great 'after ski' bar for beer (massive plastic beer delivery systems you can buy, full of beer) with live music. No idea about anything else mind.

Le Plateau is high up above Meribel centre; not far as the crow flies but its a big elevation so makes getting from there to the centre of town a bit trickier. That said there is a very good free bus service which runs until reasonably late in the evening (around midnight or 1, from memory). It depends what you're looking for, really. The apres bars down by the Chaudanne (main ski point in Meribel Centre) get going with live bands around 5ish, and they're right by the bus stop so you could just jump on one of those back afterwards. In the evenings its a little trickier to get back so you may want to time it for the last bus if you're out in the centre, either at one of the various pubs. Dick's Tea Bar is the "big" club in resort and doesn't get going until after midnight, so if you're planning a really lively night you'll be in for a tough walk back.

Up at Le Plateau and including the famous Ronnie, there are also one or two bars up that way that are worth a visit. Aux Petits Oignon is one that does live music and was a popular seasonaire hangout last year (I think Mondays were music night). Its also a restaurant and they do really great food in there; I only ate there twice last season but it was a real treat.

There is a petit Casino (mini supermarket) up there which will be fine for you if you're in catered accommodation; but I'd imagine if you're self-catering you might be better off coming down to the Spar in Mussillon (on the way in to Meribel centre), its probably the biggest supermarket in resort and perhaps the cheapest. The best value is the Super-U supermarket at the bottom of the valley, but depending upon your tavel arrangements that could be much trickier.

Only if you've got a hypothermic death wish. Le Plateau is a minimum hour's walk from the town centre. Get a taxi.
