Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How to prevent heel lift in ski boots?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
What are the options for preventing heel lift in ski boots? My liners are loosening up a bit through use and I'm getting more heel lift than I'm happy with. I've already got heel lifts fitted underneath my liners to help with fore-aft alignment, so are there other things I could try to reduce heel lift?

High density foam, heel cups, footbeds, new liner, more appropriate shell shape, buckle adjustment, new feet, rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb.
Find someone who can look inside and let them work it out. Seem like something to do on holiday, instead of pouring sccccnnnnaaapppsss down your neck! Twisted Evil

There are various shapes of foam packers that can be stuck on the outside of the liner around the ankle to re-shape the heel cup. Usualyy this is done by professional boot fitters but I can't see much danger in having a go yourself. Tognar Toolworks not sure of a UK source. Maybe someone else can help there.

The more expensive route is replacement liners which come in various types again depending on budget and performance but this seems a bit excessive

Needs looking at to say. Have to be sure first, you have; the right shell shape/size, an orthotic(footbed). In most cases, the shell is, too big, if so, you're throwing good money after bad. However it maybe easy and just require a couple of small adjustments, in which case i'd be happy to do it for a smile. Twisted Evil
