Poster: A snowHead

Hi guys. I am a qualified carpenter and i want to work and board somewhere in BC, but not exactly sure where. Have you guys got any advice on where to go? I want to maximize my boarding time during the week, and hopefully work as much as i can during the week.
Thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

You'll need a permit first, and that's not always easy. Some I've spoken to out there become 'temporary students' to ease the process.
Where? Stay away from the mega resorts, so somewhere like Fernie could be a good choice, maybe KH.
BTW, hope you're not underestimating the potential task. More than a few Canadians have two, sometimes three, jobs, so depending on your needs fitting a bit of work in between your boarding might not be as easy as you think.
But good luck and, as always, JMO.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

johnio88, You may want to have a look at Golden, for Kicking Horse or some old aquaintances of mine set-up working and riding out of Canmore, with good access to the Banff mountains plus others.

What sought of permit do you need? Ive researched into working in canada. Didnt realise you need a permit to do so. Ill need to get a Visa, but being an Australian and apart of the commonwealth, shouldnt be to hard.
Thanks Richard for the suggestion, I will definetly look into Golden. I would love to go somewhere smaller, and preferably a little less Aussies.

If you're an Aussie IIRC I don't think you do (Kiwis also I think, and maybe others), but you didn't make that clear, and the assumption you were from 'here'. Brits on the other hand do.........despite also being in the 'commonwealth'..............
