Poster: A snowHead
|
Hey guys!
Planning to fly on Saturday but unsure where to yet - both St Anton and Tignes are looking good; have tried Tignes before and very happy with it but thinking about some variety.
Anyone up for any pointers? This would be for snowboarding - freestyle would be nice to have!
Thank you,
Sno

SnowySno, In St Anton Rendl is the main freestyle snowboard area where all the boarders hang out, called Rendl Beach, not sure when it opens but think its maybe this weekend. Check the main st anton website for when it opens.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

SnowySno, looks like a wild weather in Tignes next week - you should get better conditions in St Anton

S Anton doesn't have much in the way of a park, if you're that set on freestyle. There is one in Rendl, which should be opening soon.
Plenty of natural features offpiste though.

I think Tignes is normally the safer bet for early season snow, which is why I am off to Tignes this coming Sunday and St Anton later in January. Both trips were pre-booked.
Of the two I actually prefer St Anton because of the character and social side, so if you are making a last minute choice and you are happy with the current snow conditions, I would suggest St Anton.

never been to St Anton, so you'll need someone else to confirm or otherwise, but I head the resort runs are really narrow so a bit of a pain for snowboarders heading home.

St Anton's home runs can be narrow for snowboarders, however there is a park in both St Anton and in Lech which is only a short bus ride away and is covered by your ski pass, having done 2 seasons there I would recommend spending time in both Anton and Lech, and also sonnenkoft which is also covered with the ski pass.. st antons night life is second to none too!
