Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Been pretty pleased with mine. Along with working on better basic posture I can use vertical flexing/extending movements, leg and foot rotary movements and limited lateral (edging) movements with it.

There are some improvements that could be made to design though. For instance the buckle system for holding it to your ski boot does not 'memorize' the center point of your boot too well I've found, meaning I have to re-adjust it virtually every time I use them. Also putting them on whilst you have the ski boot on isn't the easiest operation and the buckles of the skia don't make it easy to fit the device to your boot first and then put the boot on.

But those are fairly minor niggles tbh.

skir67, I also found them awkward to keep putting onto and taking off the boot (which is what you have to do). I know that they would be dangerous if they stretched and slipped out of place, but they seem to be crying out for some flexibility in the straps - maybe webbing in places rather than solid plastic?

Interesting concept but what's to stop people practicing balancing on a bit of broom handle or bit of 2x1 planed timber?

I tried them at the ski show and found them quite good but I have to say I wouldn't buy them as they are IMV at least £10 if not £20 overpriced for what they are. And what they are to me is a not particularly high cost "novelty" item that might get a run out a few weeks a year in the lead up to trips but unlikely to be a device in constant use. Yes I know I could use them every day and improve my balance X000% but realistically that's not going to happen if it involves clipping into ski boots without actually going skiing.

WayneC, It's difficult to keep a broom handle directly on the bsl, I might have tried it! Embarassed Laughing

yes the snowboard binding like straps aren't the best idea imo, the rear one could do with being shaped to the contour of the back of the boot better and the front one needs flexibility as you say to make getting the boot on/off easier with it in place.

I'd agree about the price there. I got mine at a discounted price through BASI, so it made them a realistic price for me.
